In collaboration with A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE, SOAR NY developed the graphic design for TYPE-XV, a collection that brings together A-POC ABLE’s original Baked Stretch pleating technique and SOAR NY’s contemporary graphic vision. The studio also created the project logo and key visuals.

Baked Stretch uses a special paste printed onto fabric, which inflates with heat to form the pleat structure, meaning every line, color field, and graphic translates directly into the shape and movement of the garment. This pushed the work far beyond surface decoration, demanding a fundamental rethinking of the relationship between the body and graphic design.

The collection is presented in two series. TYPE-XV 001 features original graphics with vivid color and typography across Baked Stretch dresses and pants. TYPE-XV 002 brings dynamic contemporary graphic patterns to non-sewn knit T-shirts, with a typographic series built from the reconstructed letterforms of A-POC ABLE.

SOAR NY’s involvement extended beyond the garments to the store environments themselves, designing wall graphics and spatial objects for the launch across locations in Ginza, Aoyama, Kyoto, and Osaka, followed by Milan, London, Paris, and the US (online).
